Water Awakening: Water Basics for Colorado

Join us for this special opportunity to learn how water works in Colorado and have fun with friends at Left Hand Brewing Company in Longmont. The evening combines education and conversation with Sean Cronin, the Executive Director of St Vrain & Left Hand Water Conservancy District. As one of your key representatives on water, he leads the District in their mission to protect local water rights, encourage improved water management and support the development of additional water storage for shared community benefits. In this drought year when water is even more crucial, come spend time with an expert, bring your water questions, and be ready to laugh and learn!

Longmont Community Water Academy

The City of Longmont Water Department, in partnership with Colorado Water Stories, and with support from national organizations WaterNow Alliance and River Network, invites you to the City’s first Community Water Academy. The Water Academy is a free, family-friendly event designed to educate and inspire residents about Longmont’s water systems, conservation and the value of every drop.

Join us for a fun afternoon of interactive education and community connection. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how water travels from mountain sources to your home, learn how you can play a role in preserving water and have the chance to preview updates to Longmont’s Water Quality Report plus share feedback on how water quality information is best understood and communicated. Free educational programming for children will be provided by Dandelion Arts Collective. Spanish and ASL interpretation services are available by request during registration, and light refreshments will be provided.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with City staff and fellow residents, learn about the water you use every day and become part of Longmont’s sustainable water future. Learn more and register at https://bit.ly/COL-Water-Academy
