Water Dances Workshop at Coal Creek, Lafayette
Join Colorado Water Stories director, Maren Waldman, in this intimate workshop at the water's edge. Spend time with the waters of Coal Creek, hone your artistic voice and experiment moving - dancing - with the waters. Maren is joined by Friends of Coal Creek resident artist, poet Erin Robertson, who will weave in creative writing prompts and support this creative, embodied artistic process. Participants will collectively share their work in an informal performance at 1pm, followed by a bring-your-own-picnic. Hope to see you there for this morning of beauty! Registration details to come in early 2026. Contact Maren with any questions.
Longmont Water Fair
Where does your water go after it leaves your home? How does it get from your faucet back to Nature? How can we take care of our water? The Longmont Water Fair is back! Join us for the 3rd annual Longmont Water Fair on Sunday, June 14th from 10am-1pm at Dickens Farm Nature Area. This free, family-centered event blends science, art, and education to celebrate our local water. Explore water’s journey from your home to the ocean through hands-on science activities, creative art projects, live performances, and conversations with local water leaders. Meet your neighbors, complete our Water Passport for fun prizes, and walk away with actionable steps to help protect our water future. We hope to see you there!
Longmont Community Water Academy
The City of Longmont Water Department, in partnership with Colorado Water Stories, and with support from national organizations WaterNow Alliance and River Network, invites you to the City’s first Community Water Academy. The Water Academy is a free, family-friendly event designed to educate and inspire residents about Longmont’s water systems, conservation and the value of every drop.
Join us for a fun afternoon of interactive education and community connection. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how water travels from mountain sources to your home, learn how you can play a role in preserving water and have the chance to preview updates to Longmont’s Water Quality Report plus share feedback on how water quality information is best understood and communicated. Free educational programming for children will be provided by Dandelion Arts Collective. Spanish and ASL interpretation services are available by request during registration, and light refreshments will be provided.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to connect with City staff and fellow residents, learn about the water you use every day and become part of Longmont’s sustainable water future. Learn more and register at https://bit.ly/COL-Water-Academy
